<lj:music>Ben Folds Five- "Fair"</lj:music>

Oh, what a weekend. I saw anchorman opening night, saturday party at the walkers' and sunday i took a train up to boston to see ben folds with jen and alex. unfortunately, hot hot manda couldn't come so we had an extra ticket. but yeah rufus wainwright was eh and guster was decent. ben was the last to go on which was best since he could do an encore. the show was just so amazing. the highlight of the night was that guster came back on and ben played with a full backing band for two songs. they did "fair", which was just mind-blowing since its perhaps my favorite ben song and it sounded exactly like the album. he also did "not the same" with guster and it was just so cool to see him play with a band. Some ones he played that he didn't do at newport were "steven's last night in town", "fair", and "annie waits". started my new work yesterday, watched scarface (what what nate!), hit up the hot tub lastnight, and watched i love the 90's. good stuff. full hour of chappelle's show tonight. banana cognac, beyatch!

oh yeah, and we didnt get the tickets by walt getting them and us refusing to pay for them, to the moron spreading that lie.

    <lj:music>Ben Folds Five- "Emaline"</lj:music>

Friday Jen and I decided two hours before the show to drive up to Newport to try to get tickets to see Ben Folds. We got there in time to snag a couple bitchin' seats that were right on the aisle. We also saw Tim the drummer which was hilarious. It was one of the best show I had ever seen. With such classics as Army, Philosophy, Kate, and he even did Selfless, Cold, and Composed. He told us about his interview with "I Love the 90's", and did a couple covers, incl. a Ray Charles song, and his encore consisted of Tiny Dancer, Evaporated, and One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces. He also played some new stuff off the Sunny 16 ep. He told us that he has a new ep coming out in a couple of weeks and on it theres a Ray Charles cover and a slammin' Darkness cover with the instant classic "Get Your Hands Off of My Woman (Mother Fucker)". I can't wait to see him again in Boston!
Saturday was work and graduation parties, with highlights including football on Stace's lawn, Jen, Liz, and I tossin' the frisbee and ball around the pool, and DiMaio takin' the cake when we paid him to jump on the neighbor's trampoline! haha!

P.S.- Thanks a lot to the assholes spying on me late at night, you fuckers. Get a life.

    <lj:music>John Coltrane- "Naima"</lj:music>

There wasn't much else at the Toasters show, so I'll just move on. Plus I don't want to bite Meg B's style anymore!
Friday was cool. Work was a breeze, then to the gym and then to Borders with Abby after visiting Jenn. My parents gave me 40 bucks since I wanted to get a present for myself when they didn't. There, I got a book, Brubeck's "Time Out", Coltrane's "My Favorite Things", and Mingus's "Blues and Roots" (Walt's favorite). All three heavy hitters. Then we Abby, Jenn, Huang, and I saw Starsky and Hutch. It was decent, worth seeing. Will Ferrell is one of the highlights, along with the little chinese boy (MATT HUANG!), who turns out to be a tiny man! But everyone was great in it. After that, everyone headed home and I went to sleep listening to "My Favorite Things".
Saturday was my birthday, but it didn't really feel like it at all, but it was nice that some people knew and wished me happy birthday (mad props to the Hookways!). It was fun, but I was so tired the whole day. There were some cool bands, and I saw some really good musicians play. Nate's buddy Rosie was there singing with some choir, so it was cool to see her. We got to walk to the Berklee bookstore, where I picked up a couple of Coltrane transcription books. One concentrates on his earliest stuff, which is really cool, and the other I thought was the album Giant Steps, but it turned out just to be like 10 different takes of the song, which is so bitchin'. The awards ceremony was so much fun with Emerson and Walt. Emerson drew hilarious pictures of Scot on plastic cups. Plus there was this kid in front of us who everyone was throwing shit at his head, including coins and an altoids tin! It was so funny, same with the ride home, with Steve Gavin yelling out every exit sign he saw and Nate singing lil' Jon in the voice of Mike Huang's grandmother. I laughed so much it felt like somebody punched me in the stomach.
When I got back Abby and I went to Walt's, where coincidentally JT was having a party (for Carribean X!). We wanted Jenn to come but she couldn't. When we got there, JT was saving me a Guinness for my 18th, and it was cool he refused to let other people have and save it for me. Jon was wasted and violated Abby, Dan was wasted, really funny, calling himself the Buddy Rich of Cranston. Josh wasn't that bad and it was good to see them. We went to Spike's and watched snl in Walt's room. Then Abby, Josh, and I chilled for like an hour. Some of the highlights of the night were the Doc calling us "fuckin savages" with his words slurred, Tony P's video for school where everyone swearing, and Emerson hurling on a srtanger's sidewalk after pulling over for him. It was a really fun birthday, and I'd like to thank all those who made it possible:
- cheap vodka
- self-deprication
- cocaine
- Charlie Murphy
- Ashy Larry

    <lj:music>the Toasters- "Direction"</lj:music>

Yesterday was okay. A long exhausting day at work, but at least everything was redeemed by the show. The drive was two hours, but it was totally worth it (then again, I got to sleep on the way back while Walt was driving. It sucks that they weren't even on a stage. Then again, they were in a church. But that was okay, since we (Walt, Emerson, Abby, and I) were in the front. Except there was one kid in front of us who looked high and literally smelled like shit, ask walt and abby! And there was another kid in front of me who looked really wasted who like disappeared 10 minutes later.
The Toasters are definitely one the best live shows anyone will ever see. I suggest everyone goes to see them when they're at the Living Room May 22nd (Abby's b-day!). Everyone there loved them, you couldn't be there without around a little. Their trumpet player Sledge knows how to circular breathe, so at one point was holdign a note for like a whole minute, and wouldn't stop until everyone in the joint was goin absolutely NUTS!

Its impossible to type all about it in one sitting, so stay tuned for part 2!

When I got home from school, I found oUT via e-mail that stuff was missing from my WPI application. When my mom called the admissions office they said I didn't send my personal essay, which is gone since my computer was recently fixed. Fuck that, I'm not writing it again! Plus they wanted SAT II's which I didn't even take!
Work was friggin awesome. I was in a back room putting tapes in a rewinding machine and putting little magnetic strips on magazines so people can't steal them. During which, I read the latest edition of People and the January Spin (excellent issue), where they voted The White Stripes "Elephant" the best album of 2003 (I don't get it either!). Also, on top of this there were chocolate covered coffee beans and easter egg whoppers i got to devour. And here's the best part: after all this "hard work", my supervisor gave me a break (which I really deserved! HA!), to have a piece of cake for a co-worker's birthday. On top of this, I only worked 3 hrs and got a break! Oh man...

WELCOME TO THE CHINA CLUB!! A-CHING CHONG, SHING SHANG SHONG!!

Just a suggestion.

Take the What Pulp Fiction Character Are You? quiz.

Yes, its that time when vacation is over, and we all realize how much time we've wasted and how miserable we all are. It warms my heart to think about it! Anyways, I slept, I drank, I read, I smoked, I ate (ALOT), and I started my term paper (though only today, only 2 pages, and only due in 3 days), and I changed my desktop to Lindsay Lohan! So though nothing too productive, I wouldn't prefer it any other way. I'm out.
SLÁINTE!!!!!!!

This is the new beginning in an era of time. First, there was the beginning of life, then the George Foreman grills, and now this. Now I have made this out to be way better than it will actually be. Anyways, now its time for serious discussion. Theres been a certain personal event that has been troubling me. I've been praying about it every night. Of course, I'm talking about the beginning of my womanhood. Its just that I'm afraid that I'll be the only girl in school that doesn't get it! Stay tuned as this story develops. Until then, I'm out.
